Following the deaths of two Red Pandas at Edinburgh Zoo last year, which were linked to loud explosions during Bonfire Night, Edinburgh has expanded its firework control zones (FCZs).

The ban, which is in force from 31 October to 9 November, prohibits the use of fireworks in designated areas to protect animals and vulnerable people.

Zoo officials welcomed the decision, saying the new measures could help prevent further tragedies, reports Irish broadcaster RTÉ.
