The Red Panda has been classified as endangered by IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature). Fewer than 10,000 adult Red Pandas remain in the wild.
There are several conservation organizations dedicated to the protection of the Red Panda.
The Red Panda Network works with local villagers in Nepal and Bhutan to protect the wild Red Pandas and their habitat. You can donate, (symbolically) adopt a Red Panda or even become a Panda Guardian.
WWF International works in the Eastern Himalayas and monitors Red Pandas and their habitats in India, Nepal, and Bhutan. You can help by making a symbolic Red Panda adoption. WWF Germany supports a conservation programme in Sikkim (India) Bhutan.
Fauna & Flora International protects Red Pandas in the forests of Myanmar.
The Zoological Society of London’s EDGE of Existence Program aims to protect Red Pandas in their habitat in the Indian state of Sikkim. You can donate to the EDGE of Existence program here.
