The Zoo of Schwerin (northern Germany) welcomes Polly, a one year old female Red Panda. She was born in Kolmården Wildlife Park in Sweden and now lives next to the Zoo’s Gibbon enclosure.
Polly is very shy and cautious at the moment. She will spend some time in an indoor-enclosure to settle down.
Before Polly arrived, the Zoo of Schwerin asked the public for bamboo plants. The donated plants secure the in-house supply with bamboo.
Spring 2016 the Zoo of Schwerin should also get a male Red Panda.
