Police arrested trio in possession of a Red Panda hide

The Himalayan Times reports that the police in Nepal arrested three suspected smugglers of a Red Panda hide in the capital Kathmandu. The men in the age of 26, 43 and 46 were sent to the Kathmandu District Forests Office for further investigation.

Harsh punishment

The smugglers could face a sentence of up to 10 years in prison and/or fined up to 75,000 Nepalese Rupees. This roughly corresponds to the annual per capita income in Nepal.
