It’s a typical Red Panda story. Mulan and Anmar at Drusillas Park near Alfriston, UK, have such a healthy appetite that the zoo has to appeal to the public for bamboo donations.

Black Bamboo for Red Pandas

“Our own plantation has been struggling to keep up with the Pandas’ enormous appetite, if any green fingered individuals out there have some fresh bamboo they can spare for our Red Pandas, we would be so grateful!”, says Zoo Manager Sue Woodgate.

Hobby gardeners, who can spare bamboo plants, are invited to submit these at the zoo.

By the way: Mulan and Anmar love Black bamboo (Phyllostachys nigra). But also other varieties are welcome, as long as the plants are tall, fresh and healthy.
