Nepal Establishes First-Ever Red Panda Conservation Area

In a historic achievement for Red Panda conservation, Nepal has declared the Puwamajhuwa Community Red Panda Conservation Area, the first of its kind in the country. 

Covering 116.21 hectares in the Panchthar-Ilam-Taplejung corridor, the community-led initiative ensures the protection of endangered Red Pandas and promotes sustainable coexistence with local communities.
