How School Education Helps Red Pandas in the Wild.

International Red Panda Day is celebrated on the third Saturday in September. This year, it falls on September 20.
It’s also a great time to visit the zoo because many of the Red Pandas born in summer are on display for the first time. During the first months of their lives, these animals often remain in their nesting boxes.

The Aim of International Red Panda Day
International Red Panda Day aims to raise awareness of the need to protect these animals and highlight the threats they face in their natural habitat.

Education Is a Key Means of Protecting Red Pandas.
This year, the Red Panda Network, an NGO dedicated to the protection of Red Pandas, is focusing on the issue of school education. In Red Panda habitats, many people live in poverty and often cannot afford basic school supplies, such as backpacks and notebooks. This can lead to students dropping out of school. Consequently, they become more dependent on the forest’s resources, which negatively impacts Red Pandas. The future of this species also depends heavily on local communities, who are essential to many conservation measures.
Help for 100 Students in Nepal
The Red Panda Network has launched a fundraising campaign to provide 100 students in Nepal with essential school supplies for one year.
